College Spotlight is a very short introduction to a college/university, with some fun and interesting highlights I've gathered during tours, meetings with admission staff, webinars, and research.
Hopefully these College Spotlight posts will help you determine whether a school could be a good fit and warrants additional research.

Vanderbilt University is a highly selective, private university in Nashville, TN
Here are some quick highlights:
Located in the West End neighborhood of Nashville, Vanderbilt's location is perfect for foodies, music lovers, and students excited about an urban lifestyle.
Vanderbilt offers three application deadlines: ED1, ED2, and RD.
Traditionally, Vanderbilt actively utilizes its waitlist.
As of the date of this post, Vanderbilt offers a full-tuition scholarship to students with a household income of $150k or less: Opportunity Vanderbilt
Vanderbilt has four undergraduate colleges. The College of Arts & Sciences and School of Engineering do not admit by major. Blair School of Music and the Peabody College of Education & Human Development do admit by major.

Note that there is no undergraduate business school. Students interested in business often major in Human and Organizational Development.
Vanderbilt is a residential campus, with most undergraduate students required to live on campus.
In contrast to some if its peers, Vanderbilt is transfer-friendly. This approach may be a viable option for students who love Vanderbilt but do not receive acceptance for freshman start.
