Guidance for US Citizens on Exploring and Applying to International Universities
Appropriate for current high school students of all grade levels

The international college search and application process differs significantly from the domestic/US process. At G2C, our goal is to help students and families understand those differences, assist with determining whether or not to pursue admission to international universities, and guide interested students through the international university selection and application process.

 

Introduction to International Education

This service is ideal for students seeking expert guidance to determine whether international universities may be a good fit academically, geographically, socially, and financially.

Included in this service:​

• Outline differences between the US and international educational experience

• Discuss academic requirements to consider, as well as geographic, social, and financial considerations

• Review student's academic and extracurricular profile in context on international admissions

• Suggest 3-5 schools to consider based on academic background and student and family preferences

 

This package includes 1 hour of meeting time with our international admissions specialist. Parents are encouraged to attend.

International University Search & Selection

This service is ideal for students who have participated in our Introduction to International Education service (or have strong foundational knowledge of international education) and would like expert guidance on choosing appropriate universities. 

​

Included in this service:​

• Consider and identify international university selection factors of significance to the student and family

• Assess academic and extracurricular profile for fit to specific universities in desired geography

• Discuss financial considerations and options for aid

• Review important timelines in the international university application process

• Convey best practices for researching potential schools, utilizing the CustomCollegePlan portal resources (included)

• Identify potential Reach, Target, and Likely schools based on academic and extracurricular profile, while incorporating other relevant factors

• Research and discuss each college to determine fit

• Narrow down options to a final, balanced list of appropriate length for the student (typically 3-6 universities)

• Includes Google Drive folder with proprietary Activities/Honors/Testing tracking spreadsheet and other resources that are also helpful for domestic college applications

• Includes interactive CustomCollegePlan portal for parents and students with extensive college information and research resources

 

This package includes approximately two hours of meeting time with our international admissions specialist and at least one hour of consultant research and development of recommendations. Parents are encouraged to attend.

UCAS Application Coaching

This service is ideal for students who would like expert coaching on UK applications, utilizing the UCAS application platform. Note: Students who need guidance on determining fit to UK universities or guidance on creating a list of universities/courses should first consider Introduction to International Education and/or International University Search & Selection.

Included in this service:​

• Review of student's university/course list for fit

• Suggestion of alternate universities/courses to consider if warranted

• Coaching on the completion of the UCAS platform for up to five universities/courses

• Initial consultation and two rounds of editing consultations for the UCAS personal statement

• Explanation of documents and additional steps required by the application

• Includes Google Drive folder with proprietary Activities/Honors/Testing tracking spreadsheet and other resources that are also helpful for domestic college applications

• Includes interactive CustomCollegePlan portal for parents and students with extensive domestic and international university information and research resources

 

This package includes approximately five hours of meeting time with our international admissions specialist and at least one hour of consultant preparation, research, and essay editing.

Application Coaching for Individual International Universities 

Many international universities do not participate in UCAS or Common App. Customized packages and hourly options can be arranged based on student needs.
